New build FAQs
Can I make changes to my project?
Sure - we want you to be totally happy with your new home! Please be aware however, that any changes that require extra labour or material costs will be treated as a variation. All variations will be costed and presented to you for approval before work commences.
Could I save money by buying materials myself?
You could but it’s unlikely. We get great discounts on most materials and appliances through our multiple merchant accounts across New Zealand. Discounts that we always try to pass on to clients. Ordering your own material, can also lead to delays and general confusion, if not chaos. Getting materials on site, on time, and in the right quantities can be easier said than done.
What are the stages of building a new house?
There are six key phases to the construction process:
- initial site preparation
- laying the foundation
- erecting structural framing
- installing cladding and joinery
- fitting out the interior, and
- practical completion, which involves a final inspection by the owners and the opportunity for any last adjustments to be made.
